It was just brought to my attention that the new install of TWGS
has you bang a game and the stock setting in Big Bang
has Gold features turned off.

This lead to this person asking questions to why his Tedit did not work.

So if someone has any ideas to this or disagree with my interpretation;
Lets hear it.

I think that the first time run of TWGS should have a gold edit already banged or the enable gold is set in Bang for this situation.

I'm going to have to disagree with you here.

Gold is an addition to the classic game. Default big bang should be stock classic non-gold.

It's easy enough to choose Gold, MBBS, Large bubbles... etc.

As for people thinking tedit it "broken", we all learn by making mistakes.

I'm pretty sure it's always had Gold disabled by default.

Not that I really care what you do with v2 from at this point and time, but I will say that no one I know would ever play a game with stock cit times or a 1000 sector universe. Most stock games aren't really stock anymore because the default stock game settings are outdated.

Its always been that way, a classic bang doesn't use gold settings.

Yes I know , but you can have a stock edit (without changes)
and still be a quasi non - gold .. meaning that the only difference
between gold and a quasi non - gold is that you can look at all planets
and ships.

Where as if the gold is not turned on , you can not look at these settings.
This being said ... noob SysOps can not even look at these till they figure
out the one setting that controls that.

But I do not expect any changes , it just came up in a conversation
I had with a new SysOp that will probably be paying for a registration
of this great program.
