This is not an area to debate the pros and cons of proposed features. It is an area for people to suggest new features for either TW or TWGS. I will either add the proposed feature to my planned features list, or explain my reasons for passing on the feature at this time. Features added to the list can be voted on so I can gauge people's interest.

this might sound like a dumb feature and i am unsure if any of you guys will think that this feature should be implemented, but when i mean to "minimize" TWGS i, at times, have shut it down when shutting down other windows as well. thinking that if this prompt comes up when shutting down TWGS i will have a last chance to cancel this move.

Feasible?

There is a warning, unless you have already done a shutdown.

in vista. it shuts down the TWGS without prompting me when i hit the x in the corner of the screen regardless if my server is online or offline. if there is a setting i have overlooked can you tell me how to turn it on?

I think there has to be an active telnet session to get the warning.

Well, I just discoverd a bug related to this!

I got an email that a user couldn't login to the server, shortly after testing the exit menu. Any players that were already connected were fine, but the server was rejecting all new connections. I did some additional testing on my desktop with the same results on the production server.

This has happened before, but I didn't realize the cause. To reproduce this bug, click "X" or "Exit" and then click "Cancel" on the "Begin Shutdown" dialog box.

Thanks for the report. Glad to catch that bug. I'm sure that's been around for awhile.

On the question of shutting down, when you run TWGS as a service, if you click X (when running under earlier versions of Windows that allow the GUI when running as a service), it will minimize the server rather than close. Maybe I could have a server setting to lock the server open so it'll behave like the service, minimizing but still running, until you unlock it. Since it already has this functionality, that would be easy to do.

This bug is back, if you hit exit/cancel or exit/begin shutdown/abort shutdown new connections are disabled.

I hate when that happens.
