This is not an area to debate the pros and cons of proposed features. It is an area for people to suggest new features for either TW or TWGS. I will either add the proposed feature to my planned features list, or explain my reasons for passing on the feature at this time. Features added to the list can be voted on so I can gauge people's interest.

extern schedule options
I think it would be neat if instead of only choosing the hour that extern runs, perhaps it could be implemented we could make extern run hourly or every number of hours or minutes or days or weeks or years or centuries.....

Re: extern schedule options
That could be done through bot link when it becomes available. But the side effects of it may throw the game out of wack a bit.
Like port upgrades for instance or nav haz clearing , just to name 2 things that are effected by that function.
But if your just looking to clear MSL's and fed for instance , I could put together something in bot link for you to run that can do that for you on each game you care to run a TWX & telnet combo (on each game to control the bot link for that game).

Re: extern schedule options
You could do it very simply using a T-Edit script now, and test how it would react once it becomes available in BotLink.

Re: extern schedule options
I agree. Extern processing is very tightly integrated into the game as a once-per-day event, so just allowing it to run more frequently or less frequently wouldn't have the desired effect. A lot of work would need to be done so that the game could handle all of those things happening at a different pace. There are probably a few things that extern handles that you'd like to gain a bit more control over, and an extern-replacement for Botlink is a great place for that kind of feature.

Re: extern schedule options
Especially if every hour your reds on the team lose all their experience during the middle of a SDT/SST run

Re: extern schedule options
Just looking for more options for tradewars.

Re: extern schedule options
I'm not against options. I just think Botlink is where a lot of this stuff needs to be handled, because I won't be able to implement every interesting idea that gameops have.
