The habitability settings for planets seem to be rather "tight". By that I mean that I'm trying to create an edit where the colonists die off faster on one planet. I made my planet based on the volcanic (90), but gave it the habitability of the gas planet (88).

It's down-write brutal on the colos!

I would like to see a bit more variance, maybe a whole new formula for habitability ratings. Such as a rating of 50 would guarantee that 50% of the colos die each extern, rating of 60 would guarantee that 40% of the colos would die each extern... something along those lines, with the randomness that the games does have now.

Right now, the 88 setting wipes them all out in just a few days, that's too harsh. I'd like a little more flexibility when setting habitability ratings.

The formula is a 2 part formula ..
Let me explain
[2] - Planet editor
<2> Initial Values
<K> Hazard Level - this happens all day , hazard level
<L> Habitability Level - this happens at extern , habitablity level

So if you wanted a planet to loose some cols set
<L> to 95
<K> to 5
That will keep the planet loosing some colos per day but not kill it off in any time soon.
You can experiment a bit and get what you want , maybe take
<L> to 85 and <K> tp 8 and see it kill them off at a better rate , if that were what you were going for.

The docs on this are not very good in the TWGS , but I have played with it to learn it over the years.
Some times you may need to create like planets so that its not
obvious to the players which will kill off colos and which are the good planets.

And do not use the ProAnsi Maker or your secret would be out.

Thanks Vid. My "secret" was out when 50k colos died at once! LOL

I'm still tweaking, I did have <K> too high. When the options are 1 -255 you sort of get the feeling that 127 would be mid-range, but it's not.
