While I haven't spoken to the rest of my group yet and can't speak for everyone, I am officially out for this tournament. It is no longer ICE with the changes made, and should not be called that anymore.

I would like to put together one team of 6. Contact me here or on ICQ or Discord if interested.

Could be a fun game now.

It would be more fun for you if they turned off probes, added a latency of about 200ms, made sure no planets could go above l3 so mobile planets couldn't be used as weapons, and crippled the ships to make them a little more like the ones in HHT.

Heck, it would be almost like the stock game you played 20 years ago. You know, the only one you know how to play.

Why wasn't any changes put to a Vote (Poll)? ...seems the proposed changes are designed to hinder a specific team.. which is pretty dishonorable. Just saying.

Good luck

You didn't get your way so your taking your ball and going home. that's fine. Changes made to the edit always have been and always will be the sysop's decision.

As far as my reasoning for removing the product, Last year B4 last years ICE I had a discussion with some other players on teamspeak one night about it. If they wish to come forward and say so so that is fine, but I will not call them out.

This past summer I spoke with BigD, The author of the edit. When he was briefly back in the game. He told me that the product on the planet was never intended to be a cashing method. He put it in to make planet upgrades easier, and to get fuel at the dock.

So, bottom line is this, you don't like the settings don't play... I don't care. Not hosting will just save me some money...

On the other hand.... If anyone wants to play and have a fun tourney.. feel free to sign up...

So you are changing this ancient edit because we found a new way to play it and everyone else is too lazy or slow to adapt?
Lucky them.
Enjoy your game.

Adapt to what? A game engineered to allow bubble huggers to survive and win on points? No thank you, I've played that game before. You guys enjoy yourself.

Thank You Rider for finely saying it... You guys only want to play a certain style of game. And shadow did say it b4 the the last tourney.

You guys don't want to play unless you an get a quick win.. That's what all this is about and the rest is crap. I get it. Some people don't like drawn out games..

Okay lets move on to the people who may want to play this game.

I actually don't think the stalemate/bubble hugging would have been avoided even with product. I'd already considered what we needed to do about 24 hours before this was announced. I was tossing up if I had time to automate the start up of our moo script to speed things up. Even if we got 30% of the resources to your 70% (ignoring other corps for now), then that's enough to sit in a tholian, block a tunnel.

LAst time we got about 5% of your resources in first few hours, most people didn't turn up or effectively our bots failed to work etc, or I played like poop (I got some people up in EXP and then forgot about extern, and it went bye bye). We then all went AFK and you still only just got through using all your resources the next day (FYI caught several nice fish 40 k's off the coast of Perth that day). Taking note I admit it was a complete white wash on your part still and I'm not trying to diminish your victory. Even if I had one more set of turns on colonising and someone at keys with a working reloading script we probably would have kept you out. After that it was 300-400k cols per day added, making 1:1 figs, at 12:1 odds...

THe product isn't' what's going to make this a stalemate, it's a 12:1 tholian which is impossible to kill/get past. I'm assuming this edit it still has a IG. Combine that with 2 second eprobes to make it hard to quickly explore.

Only way it's not a stalemate is if you kill/photon a significant portion in first hour.

I'd challenge you your scripts aren't that much better than ours.. with or without product. I could be wrong, I havn't played much lately.

I'd go so much to say we could set up a bubble, lock you out, in a product game, where we didn't moo, AT ALL. Meaning take this edit, put the 1k/1k/1k on and no other changes. (once again asuming IG on Tholian)

It's going to points, short of a miracle/mega screw up.. no matter what..
