Hi All,

I'm back playing twars and am trying re-arm myself the modern tradewars way; with scripts!

Is there a publicly available script to find tunnels?

Meaning a set of sectors with two entrances, not one.

Cheers,

Hammer_1 (formally Hammer but I've lost that email address).

I use the bubble finder in Swath. It finds tunnels and bubbles with dead-ends.

To answer your question, download the zip file a player named Helix put together:

look for my grid maker script thingy. Don't forget to let me know how awesome the script pack is. :)

Hammer_2, I'd love to see you attempt a tunnel finder script of your own. That was the kind of script that I began writing, and quickly found how rewarding scripting could be.

The logic for a simple 3-sector-tunnel finder was something like:
start at sector 1
if this sector has 2 warps, check the adjacent sectors to see if they both have 2 warps.
if so, mark all 3 sectors as a tunnel
increment the sector number and repeat the tests.

Presenting the tunnels in a useful fashion is probably harder than finding them. But give it a shot and see how it turns out.

Yep, did all that eventually EP,

Was just a case I'm just getting back into Tradewars and was more interested in winning a game than writing scripts.

I've made the tunnel finder and various other scripts since now.

I however still haven't bothered (and won't) with a haggling script because yours runs nicely over the top of mine to handle haggling! so thanks again for that awesome piece of scripting.

Cheers,

Hammer_2 (formerly Hammer but don't have that email address)
