Is anyone still around? Yeah, we're still around. I'm a little too busy to play ATM.

Re: Who's still alive??
Bought a new laptop and was just thinking about d/l some stuff. Might dabble in a low turn game eventually.

Good to hear from you guys.. I often think of the old days.. back in the late 80's and 90's when I could map out the whole universe on hex paper... kill a few cabal.

I have one of those map file printouts in my basement of a universe i was mapping. It's dated November of 1988. There was a print shop down the road that would do the wide format printing and I'd take it there on a floppy. I indeed remember my old enemy, the Cabal.

I remember the Cabal as the enemy in another door game similar to trade wars called Galactic WarZone. I agree that Tradewars is a superior game, but I did enjoy Galactic Warzone back in the BBS days..

I never played Galactic Warzone, but the Cabal were the aliens in one of the earlier versions of Tradewars and carried over into many of the spin-offs. Tradewars 2001 changed it to the Ferrengi (with the double r), and predates Star Trek Ferengi (with a single r). I played Yankee Trader quite a bit, but I don't remember what they called the aliens.

Re: Who's still alive??
I remember Yankee Trader, I played that too.
The Cabal that I am referring to were in an earlier version of TW, circa late 1980's.

I have lurked for a while, but have registered and am now visiting frequently. I need to get into a good TW game.

Re: Who's still alive??
I have not fired up a TW game in years nor have I logged onto this forum in that time. For some reason, I thought I'd check in and see how things are going. I see people are still "playing" the game. Playing as in deploying a bot and walk away.
I have thought about just doing a local machine game and do some alien hunting for shits and giggles. Maybe I'll take out my old desktop, dust off the cobwebs, and put it on the local network and connect to it via my laptop.
