Forum rules


1. Each thread must begin with the Tournament Name, date expected to open, host server information, and rules if this information is available.
2. After the tournament officially opens, we will then open the thread to general discussion of the tournament.
3. There will be one thread here per tournament.
4. Members not in the game are allowed to comment on the game, however if this results in arguments that get personal the member NOT playing will be banned from the thread. This can be a temporary or permanent ban.
5. Posts viewed by the admin/moderators of this site as being out of line with the intent of this thread, can be moved or deleted at the moderators discretion.
6. Continued violations of the rules of this thread can result in the temporary or in extreme cases a permanent ban from this thread.

Greetings Programs... MicroBlaster network is proud to present HHT 2019.

The Haunted Halloween Tournament is dedicated to the memory of Space Ghost, and all the other fallen Traders!

This is an open tournament with no sign up required. You can play solo, BYOC, or form/join a corp after game starts. Tournament "Days to Enter" will be set to 3, so no one will be able to enter the game after that time.

• Unlimited Time
• 2000 Turns
• 10000 Sectors
• 6 Trader Corps
• 1 Day Turn Bank
• No Delays
• No Truce

Game H - Practice Game - Open Now
Game T - Tournament - Opens October 26th at 8 PM Eastern Time


Tournament mode is off in the practice game, but on in the tournament game,
with a death limit of
25 and death delay will be ON.

Game duration will be 45 days. At 8 PM Eastern Time of day 45 on the "V" screen, the game will be considered stale if there is no clear dominating team or player.

This year's edit is a slightly modified version of last years edit. We have a brand new ship for your ghoulish pleasure, and the witch's cat seems to have to be hiding again.

We have incorporated some settings Space Ghost used in 2001:


1. Stardock's Warp outs will BE sectors 2 ,3 ,4 ,5, 7, and 9.
2. Alpha will have a Warp out to sector 6.
3. Rylos will have a Warp out to sector 8.
4. SOL Does not have any warps to 3 - 10, and has random warps instead.

However!!!!!!! You will NOT be able to warp TO Stardock, Alpha or Rylos thru these One-Way jumps. Warps out of SOL are also One-Way!

No Black Holes this year.

Game Rules & Points System.

1. Duplicate Accounts

Duplicate accounts will not be tolerated. Any corporation using dupes is in violation of this rule, even if the dupe is not a member of the corp.

Duplicate accounts are primarily determined by IP address. One player per IP address.

I will be using other methods to detect dupes, including proxy detection. Proxy's, VPS, and VPN's are allowed, but do not take advantage of this by trying to host with the same company I use. Proxies may not be used to create duplicate accounts.

2. Player Conduct

Be Respectful on FED/PM/SS and Ship/Planet/etc... Names. While I don't expect you to be priests & nuns I do expect you to be grown ups. Anything a typical 7 year old would deem offensive will result in a censor/warning and then a ban. I have no tolerance for violation of this rule.

3. Buyouts of any kind are not permitted. This includes both Ships and Planets.

4. No Bug use of any kind. If you are not sure then ask.

Mega-Corping is allowed and encouraged :twisted:



Points System:

If the game goes the full 45 days, This will be the tie breaker.

Points System

10 points for the corp with the largest grid.
25 points for the corp with the most colonists.
35 points for the corp with the most fighters.

5 bonus points for each shielded planet that was created by another corporation, and owned by your corporation at the end of the game. Logs must show a planet capture.(subject to my review. If anything doesn't look right, IE upgrading an empty planet then capping it, I will disallow the points)

In the invent of a tie on points the tied corp with the deaths remaining wins. If still tied, then the corp with the most cash. If still tied, then the tricon champion.

What difference would it make if no black holes etc?

As long as standard scripts are working then I can't see the issue. I too would prefer it to be left alone but I understand we do different things, particularly i this tournament.

Micro took that right out of the 2008 HHT edit written by Space Ghost.. So I'm sure you played it that way in the past..

We noticed the warp edits in several of Space Ghost's edits last year when we loaded them without re-banging. The edits are also noted on the boo inc website in 2000:

This post also describes 6 black holes to be included in the game, although i know they did not have black holes in 2001, I do not know if they ever repeated that setting.

I remember at least two games on eclipse.ultranet.com with black holes, and I don't think that BBS was around after 2001 - it might have ceased in 2000 even. I can't remember if it was HVS just before TWGS, or TWGS when I saw them. As best I remember, if you got stuck in one, you could export out to a ship anywhere in the Universe, even from a pod.

It used to be a bug (no idea what version), but in 2001 they created them intentionally in HHT.

You are correct, unlimited transport, but you have lost the ship... Pwarp in and you have lost a planet.

They really aren't a problem if you have s scripter, but if you are relying on public scripts you are in trouble.

You also get same effect if the transport distance is greater than the max warp path. We had a tournament where the max path was maybe 20 or so, it had big bubbles, so 1000s of point A's to point B's were greater than 20. All of which you could xport from any ship.

That was annoying to ZTM!
