I'm a script writer (heck, I'm writing my own script-oriented helper) but I'm also totally opposed to reactive scripts. They are cheap and dirty and I don't respect players who use them.

I can see both sides of this.
When I'm in a game, I am going to take advantage of everything that I've been given. If that is 1K turns, great. If only 250, great too.
Get what I can and then sit at dock running a foton script. 1K or 250, they won't have any left if they aren't cautious.

In a tournament style game, if you intend to play seriously then you must be on at game open and rush to SD.

That elliminates the first SD block.

Because there was some mishap with the timing on the server, if all parties are willing, I could very well rebang and restart this from the beginning next weekend.

If you have R/L commitments that prevent you from entering at the posted start time, let me know, and I'll adjust to a time that's more suitable for players in all North American time zones.

Well im not sure why you are rebanging it...I came to play Friday night ..no one else did... If you rebang it, it becomes just another game and not a tourney...

Everyone knew when it started .... but since Mongoose is whining you're going to rebang it ?... you can rebang it...I wont be there...I have another tourney to play...I only play one at a time... I don't have any fancy web site, or fancy death limit scripts. No rules outside of my normal rules.

My offer to rebang had nothing really to do with player whinning than it did with server/game time snafoo. If the reason why someone didn't get a good start, or could not get a run at extern was because my server clock was off, then that's why I offered to reset.

Exactly, there are plenty of games for players who enjoy high turn script driven games.

Because of this game, and learning how to write a few simple Zoc scripts, and because of what I'm seeing as a lot of frustrating, time wasting software conflicts in general business apps, I'm back in college now earn a degree in computer programming.

So, we'll see if I have any skills in that area. If nothing else, I'm having fun learning, and my instructors are getting a kick out of this old woman in class with all these young guys, and I'm holding my own! Getting pretty good grades so far.
