Truth is in the eye of the beholder apparently. And some enjoy the role of "Chicken Little".

This forum is information sharing and entertainment, a place for fans of the game to come together and share ideas and announce game rebangs.

The unfortunate part is that the information you provide is usually far from being correct, and in many cases even farther away from being the truth.

Honestly, your comments weren't that bad. I complained, because I didn't like the direction the thread was headed. Call it a preemptive strike, because we have had this same argument thousands of times over the past two years.

So you have a member who complained and a Mod that acted
on the complaint. Really quite simple Kav. He didn't exceed
his authority, he responded in a timely fashion.

This forum is for sharing information, not rehashing the same
complaint over and over. There's another forum where that
tune is welcomed.

If Big D really wanted to effect a change, he'd actually post some
examples of v1 or v2 bugs instead of alluding to them like
fabled Easter Eggs...

Actually if you paid more attention you would have known that when J.P. first came back and started working on Tradewars, "before he named it version 2", I posted every bug I knew existed in v1.03. He fixed 1 or 2, out of 10 or 15 of the known bugs before he started adding in a bunch of new crap and timing changes. So stick that in your easter egg and eat it.

Red Herrings have always been and always will be a part of this game. Pardon me if I don't speak the TW gospel as you see it. There are other opinions and observations whether you recognize them or not does not matter.

You keep saying that, but I sure don't see it anywhere in your posting history.

Look harder. On numerous occasions I have posted about the bugs in v1 and v2. I'm not going to do all the work for you, however I will post a couple links.

viewtopic.php?f=15&t=34161&p=243391&hilit=time+limit+bug#p243391

viewtopic.php?f=45&t=34143&p=243261#p243261

Here's and entire thread in another forum discussing how several players reported bugs to J.P. concerning v1.03

http://hyperspace.forums1.net/t178-unreported-bugs

Oh WAIT! I found a new thread that is VERY interesting about a discussion concerning v1.03 bugs and when v2 was still in the planning stages. Pay very close attention to Space Ghost's post. :P

First link: Those are not useful bug reports at all, for the reasons I explained right there in that thread.

Second link: Now there's a real bug report. So you do know how to write one. But that's still not the list of "every bug I knew existed" that I'm looking for.

Third link: I'm not looking for a discussion about how you claim to have reported bugs. I'm looking for the actual thread where you posted "every bug I knew existed." Until you show me a link to that thread, I'm calling you a troll and a liar.

Fourth link: Not sure how you think that thread is even relevant. There's no list of bugs there. It's a discussion of how longstanding bugs like shield riding become features by popular consensus. As for Space Ghost's post, he was making the very point that you never seem to get: there's nothing stopping you from continuing to play 1.03.

Now I'll let you know how I feel. I could really care less what you think or anyone else that's left in this forum thinks. I also told you I wasn't going to do your work for you by searching through 10,000 posts to find the exact post you are looking for. By the way, if anyone is an idiot it's you. You can't see the facts in front of your face. The reason I don't play v1.03 any longer is because people like you, Cruncher, and J.P. have drove most of the real players away. This game is dead and there's only a few want-to-be players left in this forum to continue trying to ride a dead horse. Now I'll leave you and your side kicks to keep telling yourselves there's something left to try to salvage. ROFL

Fortunately, the software does the work for us. The post you linked is the only post you have ever made in the TWGS bugs forum.

Now, if I was going to be the Fascist dictator that Kav thinks is running this group, I would have had D up against the wall and shot, specifically for this post. Then I would have locked it, and then deleted it. THEN I would have ripped the router out of the wall, found the server that hosted this forum, and beat it to death with a hammer. Why? Because of this:

Idiot couldn't even spell "Censored" correctly.
Yeah, we can do that here D, especially when you are being an idiot.

It happens from time to time.

Moderating this forum is like babysitting a pair of surly teenagers.
You know that they are both looking for a fight, and you have to know when to step in before they actually come to blows.

I apologize that some of you have your entertainment shortened because I ground them to their rooms before things get interesting. If you want to see that sort, please visit the smack talk section of the other forum, and tell Farley I said Hi.

This is news?

Part of the reason so many people left was not only the game getting broken with v2's "improvements," but their valid concerns about it not just being ignored, but actively suppressed.

This is just par for the course.

This has run its course, nothing new or enlightening can be added to it.
