 Re: B.O.T.E. 2013 - July 12th 9pm Eastern
From what I see of the edit it's just a toned down Moo2 edit. Moo2 is a very good edit for unlimited turn truce games. I know the noobs at UTW liked it very well.

It's nothing Like Moo2 none of the planets come with product. If anything it's closer to a pirates crossed with sub zero edit with limited ship and planet options. Doesn't really matter for you I guess, we know you won't be playing. Maybe we will cya at ICE.

If you mean Sage's hyped up version of the pirates edit, then I would have to agree. Any edit with offensive ship odds greater than planet odds is a very good edit for unlimited turn games. I know for a fact that Sub Zero was intended for just that purpose.

Again I don't think your opinion really matters here, as the edit is set, your team can't or won't be playing and as your pointing out every edit has it's own strategy. Can an elite player/team adapt to any edit as needed?? (that's a rhetorical question)

Can an elite player/team adapt to any edit as needed?? (that's a rhetorical question) Why wouldn't my opinion matter as much as your opinion? After all, Ground Zero was the winner of BOTE and didn't get offered to choose the edit. As far as our team "can't" play BOTE, you are dead wrong. We have 3 players on our corp that are in possession of TWGS codes. Will we play? No we won't play an edit that was designed to be an unlimited turn edit. Can we adapt? Sure we could, but playing a tournament that requires specifically designed scripts for that chosen edit isn't our cup of tea. We would rather play edits that require the skill of Tradewars and NOT skill of scripting. However The Butcher or I either one can write scripts that you can only dream of writing.

Last game you gave up to Kraaken and the year before Kraaken dominated, both years representing Vids world. His call. But you could always write your congressman. Big D wrote: As far as our team "can't" play BOTE, you are dead wrong.

So there ya go by your own admittance. "CAN'T OR WON'T!" Big D wrote: Can we adapt? As they say the proof is in the pudding. Big D wrote: However The Butcher or I either one can write scripts that you can only dream of writing. One day you both might start playing as good as you script?? Not just talking about it. Don't you have somewhere else where you can express your negative attitude? Won't cya at B.O.T.E.

There is no "can't" play, there is a "won't play. Ground Zero 3 wins over the Flying Aces, Flying Aces "ZERO". Yes I guess the proof is in the pudding son.

How about we get back on topic now as this thread is for teams to sign up not debate why they won't or can't.
Who's else is "elite" enough to come?

Stating the obvious. There was no 'winner' from 2012 as there was no bote in 2012

Why are MOST the cars from the 50's on back, black for example?
An analogy hopefully you can understand for my point would be: If we were going to have a War, would we be fighting with equipment from the civil war standing in a straight line or the latest and greats drones and use gorilla warfare? It's not a civil war reenactment.
So are you sending a team or just here to voice concerns?
Yeah, so sue me, this is a 26 year old text game and the BOTE is the first tournament played 15 years ago. Every BOTE since had the same stockish edit, classic edit for a classic game. Rules have always been, winner choose the server, but not the edit. The edit remains the same. Even back in the day each server has it's own "flavor", each sysop had a certain style of game they hosted. So, it was determined then that everyone knows stock, not everyone has experience playing wild edits. The more I look at this edit the less likely we are to play. I've had two members bow out already.

Cruncher,
Does that mean you are not going to sponsor a team?

No reason to sue. Just clarify for you. Guess the last ten years you were playing in it you missed a memo?? Oh wait you haven't been playing. Still not going to sue. Cruncher wrote: Rules have always been, winner choose the server, but not the edit. The edit remains the same.
Not the last 3 I have played in. Cruncher wrote: Even back in the day each server has it's own "flavor", each sysop had a certain style of game they hosted. So, it was determined then that everyone knows stock, not everyone has experience playing wild edits.
Hence that analogy to help you move to the present Cruncher wrote: The more I look at this edit the less likely we are to play. I've had two members bow out already. Helix said it first: Helix wrote: Cruncher,
