I recently lost my motherboard, CPU, and all hard drives from a lightning strike. This means I'm starting from scratch. I lost all my software, some of which I can't replace. I also lost all my TW scripts and TW programs.

So if I'm not that active in the game for a while, it's because I'm starting all over from scratch.

I'll be back, it's just a question of when and how long it will take. I'll also have to retreive my TWGS codes from JP again since almost all codes and passwords were saved on the 2nd hard drive which I lost also. So you can imagine how long this will take. heh.

I did reinstall ICQ and still have my contacts. So you can reach me there. 121004329

Big D - are you sure the drive is dead? You would be surprised at what data recovery places can salvage if you are willing to pay for it. - hope it turns out better than expected

There are some data recovery programs out that work very well. One is at http://www.data-recovery-software.net/ and I found it recovered a lot of data. It may not work in this situation, but may be something to look at. The price is reasonable at $79.

If the drives are dead from a lightning strike then it means the controller is burnt out. There may be platter damage, there might not be, but you can't do anything without a new controller. If you can find a compatible hard drive it's theoretically possible to pop off the old controller and put in the new one, possibly giving disk access. This is not an easy task, but is one you can learn off the web if you're willing to front the money for a disposable drive.

I had a similar problem on my old system, a power spike came down and killed my drive and burnt out the mobo. Fortunately I had a backup system and an external USB drive backup. After that I invested some money for a good UPS ;).
