Can we collect his poems? I'd like to preserve those and any other tangible things he contributed to this game and community over the years. I personally never saw one of his poems. |

OMG I just heard from one of the yahoo groups I get mails from. This is so sad and he was so young. We chatted a little here and there back when I was active always fun to play TW with and always fun to pod lol one of the old timers who just never seemed to get tired of TW. It’s too bad I never got to know him better. I wish his family the best and hope everything is going well for them in such a sad time. SG will be missed. Speed Demon |

Kav JP, It would make my day if you put a few of the poems in the restroom in the bar. He'd like that I think. Probablly more than the ship. |

Ode to SG He was the ghost with the most love him or hate him in the TW forum we all would debate him Right or wrong red or blue He'd sneak up behind you and just say BOO! He always made time to help you out or hand you a pod and then warp out He'd say hey bro enjoy your pod next time don't go where others have trod In real life he was a good man in the game of tw he was'nt half bad we're all gonna miss him but our hearts will mend I just want to say good bye old friend |

I would like to say space ghost was a good friend...and what he did for me will never be forgotten. he was a good friend but a great guy when it came to tradewars... i mean yea he got podded and killed alot ...but he was that guy it brought the comedical part of the game into it. also made the newbs think hey if this guy can die alot and hes a vet well maybe i have a shot! lol he was a big part of this world... and if i'm around and playing he will never be forgotten |

Very sad news. I would like to share a story or 2 about my interactions with Space Ghost. My very first encounter with Space Ghost was in the Title game at Home Sector. He was an established player and I was a complete noob. I was cruising around hitting fighters, mostly his. He fairly warned me "Stop that or else!" When I hit the next fighter he twarped in and podded me. We had numerous encounters the next 6 or 7 years, usually as adversaries, but occasionally as teammates. Those in WTC 02 surely remember Space Ghost's courageous burst to Ferrengal early in the game, which prevented my team the advantage of the first level 4. Another very memorable and hilarious experience (for me) was in Dupe Chess when I literally stole his King planet out from under him. In an attempt to help him quit smoking, I once instructed him to "run as fast as he could around the block" He came back around a few minutes later cussing me "What did you make me do that for" I said "Feel like having a smoke?" LOL I'm sure our last encounter on made him smile: The last time I played TW (2/5/2011) was a few months ago back in the ICE 9 solo game. The power supply on my old laptop had failed so I decided to purchase a new one. After getting the new laptop all setup, I logged into the game and squared off against Space Ghost at StarDock. SG was at dock running a lift attack reload script since he was flush with cash after not purchasing any fighters. After he quickly went blue, I figured I would drain his fighters, all by hand of course. It was working well until I twarp fused and he nailed my pod! Few were as knowledgable, none were as dedicated. Not only to playing but to the game itself. Tom, you will be missed dearly by myself and the TW community. HHT, Big Game, the infamous poems. Bro, we love you, will catch up with you on the other side! Ross Thompson aka prestone |

OMG...So sorry to hear about Tom....He is going to be missed.....I played against and with him for many years,,,,,One of the best memories i had of him was the get together in Vegas...We went out in the parking lot and and talked about tradewars and shared a smoke....It was around that time he asked me to join Boo!....we played a few smaller games and some large ones...But unfortuneatly with my health at the time i had to stop playing and i just never got back into it....Tom was a good friend and a great player... Hugs to all my friends from the game Animal |
