Hey, I was just wondering why all gameops tend to announce games at most a day before, but more often the same day (or after they're already banged).

It seems like with so few players left it would make a lot more sense to announce games well in advance, maybe a week before, so everyone would probably run across the game announcement and be ready to go when the game opens if they were interested.

I don't know if this is just habit or tradition rooted in some issue that used to arise from giving advanced notice (I came back into the game around 2007 when UTW was banging games pretty much every day and there were probably at least 100-200 active players as opposed to the dozen or so that are still around, so it really didn't matter then.)

As it stands the two default outcomes when entering a game on time are:

1) You're the lucky one who saw the announcement on time, and you win by default because entering early is such a huge advantage.

2) You play in an empty game.. if anyone does come along they poke their heads in and leave because they're smart enough to know a late start means losing by default if the other player has any skill at all.

I agree, and I always announce my game opening a week in advance, and even put the open date in the main menu. Most recent dates are green font.

I also try to reset a game or two every month, unless they are still active.

I like to give a weeks notice, but I wasn't sure where my TWGS v1 codes were, and I wanted to get one game up right away when I found them... and then I forgot to open the v1 game because I am used to v2 doing that for me... I would like to get into a routine where I bang one game a week... I am thinking:

11/7 Moo2 - Turns
11/14 Pirates 3x - Turns
11/21 Star Trek - Turns
11/28 Subzero Dual - Unlimited

How many turns should we do on the turns games?
