I lurk; it's like watching an accident about to happen. In this case the accident takes years to manifest, but I just can't help myself. I have no intentions on coming back. Cruncher is mentally challenged. |

The way I see it, anyone who has ever played at one time or another will eventually check the EIS forum. Just to see if the game is still alive or not, and remembing those old corp buddy's / friends. As for playing again, I would have to be jobless, divorced, and on house arrest to ever have the time to put in to a game again. So you can come out of the shadows, I'm not going to ask you play red or blue. *SD* |

This game will never recover from the damages done by the last round of decisions that were made by the owner of this game. The players that were left are long gone and aren't going to return. The sad part is the people that should care really don't. |

I would think the game is still ran inside a shell, that you run sub programs in, to accomplish a task or goal. Did he take that out of the game? Did he change it back to one player at time, or take way the ability to run the program inside a shell? Or was it something to do with driving people away from the online community? I know, I left because it was time to put the same amount of effort in to school, job, and wife that I was putting in to the game. I think the same happened with others I played with regularly, that and WoW. I would be willing to bet most of the people who left for WoW have moved on to something else by now anyways. Maybe its Call of Duity I just keep coming back to TW becaus I have always been fascinated by the game, ever since the first time I entered that door on that BBS, and the frangi ships started bouncing in and out of the sector I was in. |

Now that processing speed and transmission speeds are what they are, the game cannot process that quickly and maintain stability. So the minimum speed anything can process now is 10ms I believe. So think of it this way.. the old attack spam bug no longer works, you have the ability to attack back now. Here's also a bunch of sysop configurable delay settings, and yes we do have the capability to limit players to one at a time, line the old single-line bbs days. But, at the heart of the matter is that there were some changes made that messed up some players scripts. The players who wrote those scripts no longer play, those who use them cannot. Very few players today write TWXProxy scripts. I have a talented player on my team who does, and he writes them to work on both v1 and v2 games. He enjoys writing them, I enjoy giving him ideas and testing his scripts. |
