You might ask the sysop at WyldSyte, I've seen him bang a stock unlimited game before.

Although I have to tell you I tried it and it was pretty horrible for gameplay.

Are you referring to server particulars vs. an aversion to stock settings?


Regarding the latter, I find the ship and planet settings in a stock game make
an unlimited turn game challenging for a corp and extremely tedious for a solo.

The game changes to a speed game in an unlim. Long cit upgrade
times make planets a waste of precious time, changes the whole game.

One thing I can tell you is port settings need to not be default - the stock settings used in an unlim lead to a game where the ports are drained within hours and don't restock for days afterward.

Also you might want to look at evil settings and Bust Clear times as well, or it'll be tedious for a red as well.

Yeah, Crosby and I have been talking about some of the details, and port regen was a big one to change.

Any suggestions on Bust times and other evil settings?

So port regen of 200% will be good for blues world trading.
They'll be kilt fairly early for this reason.

Red cashers will want bust clearing set to 1 day. Another
nice Red setting would be a ship that has an xport range of
like 25... Maybe like a Red ISS. But then we're veering away
from 'stock' settings quite a bit.

Agreed. Stealing *can* be done with stock ships, and can even be managed with the 7 day bust clear - but you make a LOT less money and it's not really as worthwhile being a red if you have the 7 day bust clear.

I'd say more, but I don't want to give away too much for anyone interested in playing this edit and figuring it out for themselves.

I definately appreciate the discussion, though like you mentioned we are moving away from the 'stock' unlim game the OP asked for. If you have any additional suggestions for a non-stock unlim game, I'd love to hear them in PM (so as to keep the surprise). I need to learn!
