As someone completely new to managing a Tradewars game/server, and as someone who hasn't played in many years (and even then wasn't very experienced), I am extremely interested in as much information as I can get my hands on. I've been lurking here for awhile now, reading just about everything and trying to learn from observation and experimentation, and I've noticed a distinct lack of newbie reading material. From what I can tell there have been a couple of attempts at writing a community manual for the game, and another for hosting. I'll be digging through them and consolidating/writing a tutorial/knowledge base for my own nefarious purposes. I will have a plethora of questions and need a lot of help from the more experienced members of the community. I would greatly appreciate any discussion or feedback on this project. Specifically, at these early stages, I'd like help tracking down as much useful information as is already out there. I have found the following: -Game Play Q&A Forum -Tradewars 2002 Manual Forum -Hosting Q&A Forum -TWGS & TW2002 Settings Explained Forum -http://docs.classictw.com/ -http://microblaster.net/Links.aspx?topic=guides -http://tw-cabal.com/ -http://www.navhaz.com/ Thanks to Micro, Kavanagh, and Helix for the links! I'm still working on getting the in-program help files to function on Windows 8.x. Are there any other helpful documents/projects out there I should/could be looking at? |

As Micro posted, tw-cabal.com , in addition to his own site, is great. Also, navhaz.com has good info. |

There is a pdf version of the TW-Cabal Site in this archive. It was made with the permission of the creator. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/673 ... p_v102.zip This public link to all of the files previously hosted on the TW2002.info site to be used as wanted or needed https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/673 ... 2_info.zip (85megs) H |

Excellent! Thanks for the information. I'll be spending some time this weekend working on this. Even though the files aren't large, I'm more trying to find a good way to consolidate the files in a way that the community won't lose access if someone decides to drop their server or leave (some of us do grow up eventually, right?). I figure torrents (or one big torrent archive that gets updated every so often?) or a mirror archive would work. I'm actually not sure how a mirror archive works, but I know a single link could be provided here in the forums (or the wiki) and they would be served by multiple servers. |

Cabal should have everything you would want to know. |
