True free speech is anything anyone says it is. Its acknowledging someone who's words make your blood boil, supporting something that you'd denounce. Its hearing them out, then having your own say. Free speech isn't always popular, In fact its sometimes offensive and hurtful. That comic is right about what the "law" says, but free speech should and does have the broadest definition of what it means. The day you start saying what is free speech and what is not. Is the beginning of the end. sk |

The comic is right, but I consider this a problem. As public discourse moves from public forums to private forums, we need those private forums to make strong guarantees about protecting free speech. |

I think THAT issue is resolved simply by natural tendancies. People who support free speech will make their speeches in places that support free speech. As long as everyone has access to a supportive forum (private or public) then free speech is protected. |

Free Speech, or Freedom isn't free. Good men and woman gave their lives and their quality of life to protect the Freedom we all enjoy. Thanks SK and everyone who's served or lost a loved one. |
