Anyone remember Yankee Trader? Yankee Trader by Alan Davenport is a textbased BBS game similar in style to Trade Wars 2002 and was developed from the TW2 code base. Quick timeline: 1984 Chris Sherrick releases the first Trade Wars. 1987 Trade Wars 1000 released by Alan Davenport 1989 New versions renamed Yankee Trader 1994 Yankee Trader ver 3.6, the final version, is released http://www.starflt.com/yt.html |

I don't think I ever played that one. But do you remember Ultimate Universe? It was another TW-like game that had a huge number of ship upgrades that interacted in all kinds of weird ways. Stuff like a Sector Reflector (a holo scan of that sector shows you the sector you're in), Sector Reflector Detector (countermeasure for Sector Reflector), Sector Reflector Detector Rejecter (you can guess...) I never played it very much, either, but it was one of those games that had so much complexity I still wonder exactly how they pulled it off. |

no, never heard of Ultimate Universe. YT and TW2002 where the only BBS games I ever played. |

I played Galactic WarZone. similar to TW. I was looking for it when I found the Tradewars community still alive.. It was nowhere near as good as TW, but its development stopped 30 odd years ago. |
