Post subject:  Summer Splash 2020
Summer is almost here, and it is once again time for the Summer Splash tournament!

Last year was the first time we ran this tournament using the "Poker Run" TWA from the TWA archive, so My question for today is what edit do we want to run this year?

So, is your intention that we will put it up to a vote every year versus using a consistent edit for this tourney?

It was NEVER ny intention to run a MOO tournament. YOU recommended the "Poker Run" TWA, and I did not realize it had product on the planets. I would have removed the product if I had realized that. I knew you would BITCH if I changed the edit, so I decided to put it up to a vote. If the community wants to play a MOO edit they are welcome to vote for "Poker Run". "MOO 2", or "Other".

I have not decided what I am going to do for Summer Splash 2021, or if there will even be any interest in that tournament.

I may not even host Summer Splash 2020, or HHT 2020. I am just promoting them.

You seem to have a lot of interest in a tournament that you aren't even going to play!

Well I was hoping to play this especially with the pirates final edit(just because its the only I know by heart not counting the ones I wrote of course)

but with the world continuing to come apart at its seams, it looks like I will have no key time with this job. :(

My vote is in. Stock game 1000 sectors. There is no where to hide. 20 days until level 4 unless you take Ferrengal.

It looks like Pirates is way in the lead.

Yeah no one would play that either...

I recently played a sock game for the 1st time in years... way to slow very hard to cash... no thanks....

That might be the only tourney you have any chance of winning, since everyone else would quit out of boredom after a month.

It's not clear that there will be enough players to run this regardless, so it may be a moot point.

Well Ive seen the tournament style of play come back from the dead before but yeah you are right, as more time passes its going to get harder and harder to run these types of games as more and more people lose interest in that type of game and Trade Wars in general.

AS of now I am planning on fielding a team since it looks like its going to be Pirates Final, an edit I know by heart.

Well, You need three players for most Team SDT scripts, so cashing would have been easier with a third player. WSST doesn't work well with the short transporter ranges, and I haven't seen a teamSDT script for 2 players. Each player would have to self furb since there would not be a blue.

I think the gameop also forgot to put colos on terra, making blue cashing impractical... lol

Based on the polling they would rather play a moo game like pirates where the ships are stronger then the planets.

Crazy Stock is the best edit on that list. Super awesome creator of it too.
