didn't think you was old enuf to enlist, from your tone, but it explains a lot, especially the kill kill kill mentality you have. sad to say, what they trained you in basic was not even close to what you will need to outlast a battle. Basic trained you to be cannon fodder, and to make sure you matched up with all the other troops.

Let me take the time to add one more count to my posts [:)]
And say the topic has been entertaining to say the least.
I think the mainPOINT is most players use ICQ the prefered way of comunications.
I prefer voice , Real Talk (found on google search).
But you have to make contacts from games you play and most players will help.
There are alot of servers .. just look for players willing to
chat in game.
If you find them helpful .. get thier ICQ number.

all those questions were pointed at UBI

i was hostile because UBI pissed me off. he is some newb who started spouting out at the mouth.

do a search here on eisonline on the twgs that he is telling you to join. look at its history. thats all i have to say

Since I don't have as high of a post count, I'll take a shot.

Two types of games out there. Competitive, and Not Competitive.

1.) UltimateTW is a non competetive server, and I know there are others, but I don't play them so I can't tell you. I would suggest starting there and asking around.

2.) There are a fair number of competitive servers. These servers are will new players will probably die quickly (what you have been describing).

If you go to a non competitive server, it will teach you the most basic elements of the game, and you'll be able to play for weeks in a game. If this is the style of play you are looking for, watch for those servers. Often you can view daily logs, and if there is alot of killing / photons / invading, it is probably not your game.

If you are looking to learn competitive play, advanced combat, cashing, gridding, etc, than you need to look elsewhere. I would recommend asking about for people who would be willing to help. I could recommend Slim above as a good guy, a bit of an Butt sometimes, but overall, a good guy.

The other question is style of game, if you want turn based or unlims, different servers are more of one than the other. Personally, I recommend turns, because you learn all elements of the game.

Personally, I think the best way to learn how to play is to read all you can then try to put it to use. The problem with playing with some sort of "mentor" is that usually you end up doing all the grunt work, and when it comes time to play on your own, you still don't know how to do the other stuff. Additionally, stay out of unlimited turn games. They are the worst place someone new could go. Stick to 2k-5k turn games.
