helpers in active use
please add to this list if you are actively using a helper:
1. twx 2. swath 3. attac 4. twassist (only works for 5k sectors) 5. TWAR (severely deficient) 6. gath 7. twterm
as far as i know, only the first two are being actively maintained.

Re: helpers in active use
I heard Gath and Twar had a baby... It's called Gwar. I hear it's really into heavy metal these days.

Re: helpers in active use
Not really a helper, but a lot of the old folks used Zoc and some archaic language that it supported to write scripts with. No worries about it being broke by the changes to the game.

And we're not old....yet But you are correct. it won't be broke by changes, and if anything, a few scripts will need to be adjusted.

Re: helpers in active use
i use attac because the crippled version is free, so i get a free grafix map and a convo box. swath cant be used crippled for more than a month, if it wasnt limited in such a way id use it instead...

Re: helpers in active use
I don't really play anymore, just goof around a bit, but I use twassist and write in Telix SALT. Can write REXX and qmodem also, not very elegantly however.

Re: helpers in active use
What does everyone think GATH needs? I am aware of the bugs that effect me and I will try to address those, but if you could offer suggestions for GATH, from the viewpoint of a TWX front-end, light-weight helper what would it be? If you could design your own helper, what would you want it to be like?
I don't have much time for free projects but I hope to rewrite GATH when I find time this year. My design goals are below, they are not new goals because this is firstly a proper rewrite:
* Compartmentalize all ANSI traffic, send chat to a separate window, stats, etc. * All separate windows will be accessible from the taskbar. * Macro support. * Sound event support. * No internal scripts, let TWX do that. * What else???
