Haha I got it right this time! Suggestion: Add a contact information section and a message of day section that shows in the same location as the registered to section and brought to u section. Each game should be independant to each other. With the popularity of facebook, twitter, etc, I noticed recently that when u log into a tradewars game that it shows who the game is registered for and the name of the gameop. A nice feature would be an area that would display important gameop information. Game op could provide all the current internet contact info and have a place to leave players messages. A daily gameop message would be even better Example: Registered to Jace's Night Club Brought to u by Jace Contact gameop at jaceace01@centurylink.net Find us: Facebook: (address provided by gameop) Twitter: (address provided by gameop) Website: (address provided by gameop) Message From the Gameop: Welcome everyone to the club! Well there is a way to play that , its hide your IP and keep coming back with dupes .. lol but is that what we want to do ? is this what you want your server to aspire to ? |

Thanks for your wisdom Vid Kid. What do you think of adding an area for gameops to place contact information and a daily message directly into the login area of tradewars? |

Why couldn't you just use a web page to do that or in the case of a bbs, an entrance page to the game itself? |

Possible to have a website to pass on, in fact i have one. I know there is a problem because i logged into my server and spoke with all my players. They didnt realize I had a website or a facebook page. In fact, they may not even know about this forum. I didnt until recently. As soon as I informed my players of the website and facebook site. They joined my facebook page within 24 hrs. So it appears once they know about it they will use it. Sure would be easier to pass that info on with a better method than log in and try chatting with em.... |

Hmm. Now that sounds like a promotional problem. I do have the name twarbase.com. (still being screwed with, I mean 'developed'). I am also a pretty prodigious backyard website developer. Maybe I could set something up where people that don't have access to a server can organize a game of their own on my server and even allow them to place a page on under the twarbase.com banner, maybe something like jaceac01.twarbase.com (for example, don't take it personal) Hmmm. Would be fun, would make it more accessible and I could do it for free. PS, & BTW. I have already figured out a way to use php to grab the contents of game stat files and reasonably display the info on a web page in real time. Just dressing it up a bit before I show it off. (to an earlier post you made) |

I thought there was an ansi file that twgs looked for that could be used for a 'splash page.' You wouldn't even need to update it daily. You could just pass on your contact information. This would be a perfect place to put basic rules of your server. |

Just thought might be a good idea to add to twigs a way of placing gameop details within the intro of entering a tradewars game. Just throwin out a suggestion. Sounds like you got some good things working! |

The file is called "announce.txt", and you place it in each game directory. I use it to post rules, but you can put anything in there you want. My email and teamspeak links are posted in the INTRO.ANS, which is the game selection menu. |

This is an idea .. that was passed down to SysOp or players that visited MicroBlasters pages or games .. I use it in all of my games now as do other sysops now .. I had to zip it cause the web server will not accept it as an ansi. Attachment:
