1. Start Date and Entry

a. The tournament will begin Saturday October 29th at 8PM Eastern time.

b. No entry fee is required to enter this tournament.

c. Registration is is not required.

d. Individual players may join the game at any time during the first 3 days. No entry will be permitted after the 2nd day.

2. Game Settings

a. This will be a 15K sector universe with 1200 turns per day and a 3 day turn bank.

b. Extern will run at Midnight Eastern Time. Note: The server’s local time is set to the Easter time Zone, even though it is physically located in Oklahoma.

c. This is a Space Ghost original edit with extensive modifications to planet and ship specs. You can download the TWA from this thread.

3. Duplicate Accounts

a. There shall be no duplicate accounts. This is primarily determined by IP address.

b. At no time is a player allowed to log into another players account.

c. I may require email and/or voice validation of suspicious accounts.

4. Corporations

a. The maximum corporation size is 6 players.

b. There is no minimum corporation size.

c. Players may freely create, join, or leave corporations at any time.

d. Alliances between corporations (also know as Mega-Corping) are allowed.

5. Player Conduct

a. All players will refrain from offensive material in any form of in-game communication and on the TeamSpeak server.

This also applies to player handles, anything that would appear in the daily logs, and the naming of any in-game object such as beacons, ships, planets, ports, etc…

This includes ASCII images posted across one or more lines or objects.

All of the following are considered offensive:

I. Abusive or unduly discriminatory material or comment which is based on matters of race, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, age, sex, sexual orientation, marital status or physical or mental disability.

II. Snippets of language that go "beyond polite conversation", curse words, and strong language.

III. Explicit or Implied sexual content, graphic nudity, and strong violence.

b. Hacking another player’s password is prohibited.

c. Bug use is prohibited. This is a very difficult area to define and violations will be taken on a case by case basis

d. Buyouts of any kind are not permitted.

e. Anything else allowed by the game will be considered legal regardless of how dishonorable a tactic may be. This includes but is not limited to Subspace Crawling, Shield Riding, Backstabbing, Blowing StarDock, Blocking Fedspace, AFK scripts, Botting, etc...

NOTE: I don’t personally agree with the attitude that anything allowed by the game is "Fair Play", but in a tournament I feel that we must clearly define any and all tactics that are to be considered violations.

I will take into consideration any conduct requests that are emailed to dmc@twfm.net before
the start of the game.

6. Penalties and Disqualification

a. Any player suspected of breaking these rules may be penalized and/or disqualified

b. I cannot see everything that is happening in the game, so most violations must be reported to me by a player.

c. Violations must be reported within 48 hours of the violation, and the accuser must provide logs or other evidence of the violation

d. Each violation will be considered on a case by case basis and may be punished be temporary suspension or permanent removal of the player or corporation.

e. Game assets may also be given or taken away if the violation resulted in an unfair loss or gain of such assets.

e. A single player’s violation may result in a penalty to all corporation members.

g. My decisions are final, and no additional argument will be tolerated after a decision has been made.

7. End of Game

a. This is a last corporation standing tournament with a maximum death limit of 20 deaths per player. If there is no clear winner at the end of day 30 on the "V" settings screen, a stalemate will be declared and the winner will be decided by a sealed point system.

In the event of a stalemate, the following point system will be used to determine the winner:

I'll tell you how to decode it at the end of the game.

I would like to suggest another addition to the rules. If there is any power / internet outage at the server site that the game re-start time be postponed until a later time. I don't have specifics at the moment but say something like 4 hours later or 8 AM/PM whichever is sooner. So if the server goes down at 5 PM, Micro would not bring it back up until 8 PM. Not a perfect solution but just trying to think of some way to protect against the dreaded internet / power outage. (hopefully there is no outage)

This would eliminate major advantages if the server ran into a technical problem.

Thoughts?

I see A problem with this as it would force the game OP(MICRO) to babysit the server 24/7. What if the internet drops for ten mins... and micro is not at keys..? I get with a major crash/power outage that your idea might be possible. but micro runs his from a business so i dont see the problems I had with ice last year...

Note: MY server(s) are now run on a remote computer at a server bank so there is little or no chance of a drop in the next tourney...

Say Whaaaat? The sysop doesn't watch the game 24x7? (j/k). The argument makes perfect sense. If the sysop is not there for a 10 min outage, well, nothing that can be done about that. On the other hand, if there is an outage, I'm sure there will be 10-15 people pinging the sysop as soon as the server goes down.

Was just a thought.
