I didn't even have GPM in ICE nor did I have a Corp until 2 hours into the game. So for someone to be nice and share a script after the game was over was much appreciated because not even the Corp I was on shared. I can write my own but I was honestly just looking for the strategy that was used because I've never played a MOO game so I could create my own version. But I got a version and modified it then even shared it back as a thank you gesture for giving it to me in the first place. I don't know why there is so much hate and hostility all the time, Darn.

I have thought about this for about a week now, and I have decided that proxies / VPS from the same host as the game server will not be permitted.

You would essentially have near Zero ping and I do not believe TWGS v2 latency settings can adequately compensate for this.

I see the flat earthism is back. Banning specific vps hosts because of a perceived advantage that is completely at odds with the actual reality of the situation. But, you know, let's ignore science and fact because it makes us feel good!

It doesn't matter where your server is located, or where the vps is located, if you use the latency/move settings. And even if you don't, nobody is getting faster than ~50ms ping times. Guess what - a lot of players out there who have fast connections to fiber based networks will get this regardless of what VPS they use. Last time I used a VPS there for a game at your server, I had the exact same ping time as 3 other people who weren't using the VPS but were simply on their home Internet connections.

What you're saying is that people who chose that host for a VPS because it's reliable and affordable, and whose home Internet is too slow to be useful (rider's ping to your server is ~300ms), have to go spend their own money to buy a VPS somewhere else, because you choose to believe that using the same host is creating an advantage that doesn't actually exist.

If it does not matter, then why did you take the time to figure out whee the host was and rent a VPS from the same host?

I rented it before the last tournament because I thought it would make a difference. Then I tested it and found out that it didn't. But I kept it anyway because it's cheap and reliable hosting and works well. My home connection goes down too often to run any sort of game from here if I need it to stay connected.

Will ISP be on or off?

Honestly we have enough players if we didn't mind a few low keytime bots to run this as a "draft" just with who we bring. If anyone is interested in playing and just wants to have some fun or make jokes, come hang out :D

You can log turns until the dust settles and we can have some fun anyway.

For anyone who is interested in the "Moo" script that was discussed prior in this thread here is the link.

It really was written specifically for the ice tourney but we made sure it would work in other planet-product edits as well.
