 Dell Laptops
Going offline until this laptop gets fixed. The AC power connection is flaky and has to be replaced - screen is flashing with the AC on-off issue. The AC power adapters also bite - I'm on my 2nd power supply and daughter is also on her 2nd one. Wish it was just replacing the adapter again on this laptop as that is a lot less expensive fix.
In two games so I hope someone gets some target practice in.

 Re: Dell Laptops
I've had at least 3 Dell laptop power supplies go belly up on me over the years, and they are a bit expensive. Managed to cobble up a working one once by cannibalizing the others, that one is still working after 6 years believe it or not.

 Re: Dell Laptops
I've had 2 Dell laptops. I've had 4 power supplies. & 4 batteries. Now I have a loose power port on my laptop mother board. I used some Velcro to attach the power cable to the laptop lid so that it holds it at the proper angle to charge it. I just figured it's the price I pay for mobility. I'll go back to a desktop kicking and screaming.

I'll go back to a desktop kicking and screaming. The loose power port is the exact issue I had and moving the cable then securing it worked for about a month. The problem will most likely only get worse as mine did and having a "strobe light" for a monitor isn't good. The problem has been fixed and I found most repair places charge around $150 to repair. The part is fairly cheap, and if you want to take a chance on fixing it yourself it would cost a lot less. I didn't want to chance futzing up the mobo. So now the laptop is up and running again with a 24 hour turn around.

Laff. Speaking of Roberts, his shop was mentioned on a broadcast a while back. I sent you the link.

I don't check the traitor@tw-cabal.com e-mail anymore. it turned into a giant spam bucket. Roberts also does a weekly radio broadcast about PC stuff. He keeps bugging me to go on there and field wireless questions.
