Instead of declaring death to the Chocoholics, we should focus on our mutual love for Ice Cream. Some of us even like our Vanilla with chocolate chips...

We are all here because we love TW. We might not all like the same aspects of the game, but we all love the game as a whole. If you find that you have a following for a no-scripting or helper game, then go for it. But the way you approached this put it forward as an us vs. them. Instead, you could have asked the question- "Do you think your abilities are good enough to attempt to play without a helper or scripts?". That would give you an opportunity to see who would be willing to give it a try without having an argument.

I hope this helps. This is an awesome game with awesome people who still play it. We should focus on our similarities rather than our differences.

Very well said Oso! I'm a vanilla with chocolate chips and chocolate syrup gal myself. ;)

The changes are nothing but options. Like I've said in the past, I'm a turns/time limit player, you'll never see me playing an unlim outside of the beta server.

I also don't have time to baby-sit a game server. If I want to offer a game to players who prefer vanilla, I want settings that will allow this without my intervention.

Should a Chocolate lover come to play on my server, sure... they are bound by the same rules and restrictions as my vanilla players. They may even discover they prefer vanilla after all! :) Or not, don't matter. There's more than enough servers for today's active players to choose from.

There's no right or wrong, just East and West and all points in between.

Not that it's needed here's food for thought. Those who don't want any scripting done then use a newer version of twars. Those of you who like using scripts just keep with the older twgs. It's nice to run around on UTW without having to go line thru line to adjust a script or beg someone to help me out. IMO

I still don't see how this "majority" is calculated. So far based on the votes it looks more like a minority.

I dont consider myself a hardcore scripter... but I think i would quit playing without scripts.... instead of complaining about being killed as soon as i leave fedspace...i decided to learn how to play like the rest of the players... we all have to adjust...

Im sure in real life we have to adapt to changes... learn how to play like the rest of the players... afk scripts are here...use them...

I guess it based purely on the users from Facebook, all 10 or so that actually post.
We won't use these results they are to biased by actual players. We only have input if something is broke and needs tested to be fixed.

As a player I think I would rather see the vote by sysops ONLY to know what servers are actually going to even upgrade to beta software, I think that would effect our little "minority" more.

There is more then 10. I think, or would guess, hens why they are referred to as the majority.

Most of them from what I can figure don't currently play, but I am just guessing. But they promise if we get rid of those nasty bots and scripts they "might" come back.

You guys need to remember that many players talk through email. Saying 10 players on facebook is like saying the 10-20 that post here are all the players there are.

So your saying the majority is really scripters scene about 99% of those people are playing with scripts? oh and not to mention the unfortunate thing of people playing on multiple servers meaning that not really an accurate count there... I know about 9 of those "players" are just me if you added up all the servers

I would estimate that there are probably 100 to 200 active tradewars players total. I would also estimate that at least 80% of them are script users.
