Is buying the ships out considered exploitation of a bug? I have always thought it a perfectly normal tactic when it is not restricted by the server rules.
EDIT: Fixed a typo.

I wouldnt consider it a bug, I would consider it a game limitation. I just set the ship limit to max and if someone wants to exploit that game limitation then they will have to pay for it.

Yeah buy a lot of cheap ships and t-warp them with an expensive ship to one of your bases. Get a Scout or a Merf type ship.
Of course some GameOps see this as exploitation of the game and will delete extra ships to let newbies into the game.

there are more efficient ways of doing it... but
its not really a 'normal' tactic - usually reserved for tourney style and highly competitive games
use sparingly

Same thing as creating ports and planets till they are maxed so someone else cant do it without destroying one first. Not cheating, just taking advantage of game limitations. I will agree tho it is kind of a cheap shot.

It is neither "cheap" nor a "cheap shot" to max the planets and/or ships - or destroy SD for that matter.
It requires a LARGE investment to do so. Maxing the planets, to be effective, means that you must be able to block the massively (and publicly known) overloaded sector. Buying out the ships, same for the parking lot as regards defense.
If the game is very high/unlimited turns, I have no opinion in the matter.

It is a two month old unlimited turn game. I was getting tired of it and wanted to end it.
