I found the enemy today. They had 2 players sleeping in tholian sentinals over their corporate planets. I used my ISS and attacked one of them with 5000 figs and I did not destroy anything. Then I got worried about wasting all my figs, and decided I would leave them with 90% nav haz and 250 mines along with 50% nav haz and 250 mines in the only sector out. I realize now that I should've put alot more planets in the sector to create planetary collisions, but is there something else more effective I could do?

deopending on how many fighters they have, you could have boosted the nav haz up to 100% and 100% in the sector out 100% in the sector out after that, and so on and so on. also put more mines outside. All this Im assuming is for un-edited tholian sentinals. Then blow all the ports, and dump limps everywhere too so if they do make it you can track them, also be online a lot.

Assuming these are stock tholians... If you kill all their figs and shields with a scout (2:1 odds), it will take you 13k figs each. If you have the figs to spend, this would probably be best. The other option is to leave too many defensive figs for them to kill in their sector, and 1 hop out (6000 figs/sector, just to be safe). IF they are the only two corp members, this will effecively lock them out of the game, since they will be unable to kill the figs, and unable to retreat. You can then take your time killing them off.

Yes, but then they're dead a LOT cheaper than having to kill them. You just have to be around to go take their planets then.

AH HA! I got it. if one of the guys in the sentinal keeps retreating from the figs untill he's podded, his pod will warp out of the sector right? Or would it not be able to escape? I guess if you were able to escape it would probably be a bug huh?

When if the player is podded and there are fighters blocking the escape path the player in the pod will simply get pushed back to the fighter prompt. This used to be a -great- way of messing up a players game back when there was a TWO day death delay if you CBY'd.
