OK...I have a question. Are aliens smart enough o move figs from the sector level back onto the planet for defense? WILL they do this at all? Here's the situation...

I come across alien planet. There are 50k defensive figs in sector. I enter sector, get blasted, kill figs. Planet is shielded, so I decide to get more fighter. I come back a little whiel later...a few hours maybe? And there are now 4 million and some change fighters. So I give up. I go cash some more. A corpie shortly suggests I try to photon in. I get photon, slowly make my way back to alien planet. I scan...4 mill change figs. Some aliens came at me, we deal with them. I scan...50k figs. Is this NORMAL?

Not normal at all, Sounds like a sysop changing fig levels for some reason.. Normally figs dont go down unless you kill them

Sorry it took me so long to reply to this guys...I was AFK. Anyone catch the UGA vs Purdue Capital One Bowl? I'm in the Redcoat band...so I had to go. ANyways. Back to the POINT. There has been a lot of hoopla about a certain board recently. UltimateTW. I believe it was Jhereg and friends that had trouble there. They were their usual efficient red selves etc etc. So I decide to chec out this place for myself. I figure if nothing else I may get a nice relaxed game out of it. I can only attempt to kee up with you guys for so long. ;) So I log in. After few hours I find an alien planet. I hook up with the ONLY other red in game and we get to cashing. Refer to my original post for what happened next. I killed sector figs...they were replaced by MILLIONS more a short while later...then they were down to 50k again. Apparentlyi this board has move AND steal delay turned on, so I wasted a LOT of time getting figs that I wasted in this...manipulated?...invasion.

Onlything I can think of is
A: The fighters weren't above a planet, you put some there, sysop edited them to alien figs, extern bumped them down to 50k
B: The sysop cheated
C: Weird game bug that nobody has ever ran across
D: The sysop cheated

I'd probably vote majority rules... ?

A is out...I left no figs resembling a large amount there. I later found out from my corpie who did some invasion attempts on another alien planet that there are about 5mill figs ON planet...so maybe the sysop was in the middle of beefing up the figs on the planets? Would he have to put the figs in space before he could put them on planet? I wouldn't think so, but I have no experience with running a game. I'm thinking B and D are likely...any thoughts?

Well,

I have no doubts that jhereg and his team were wronged, which leads me to belive the sysop would do anything, if it favored him, or his 'favorite' players-

You do NOT have to edit sectorfigs before you edit planet fighters- I do belive your (and Doc's) original assumtion was correct, I personally think it's another untrustworty sysop, changing the game to his needs.. Without informing his players-

Another reason to stay away from ultimatetw- heh, ultimatetw.. seems rather ironic...
