Hello,

I'm curious to know what TradeWars can run on. I'm interested in setting up a system, and am hoping that there's a Linux port floating around out there... Also, is development in this game still active?

At the current state TWGS has only been made to function apropriately under the Windows environment. There are several of us anticipating news on a coming version 4, inwhich the code will be completely rewritten. This being done will allow a much more flexible result. heh As I hear it, the original code is... a mess. So lets bare with him on the transformation. Its coming. (hope)

To answer your last question, regardless of how some (ahem) may feel. Yes, Tradewars still lives. We just haven't had a new revision in a while due to the author, John Pritchett's involvement with a couple other projects.

Hmm...need to get a refresh on TW history. As I understood TW started as an MIT class coding assignment about 15 years back and
had very limited sectors and turns...then kept evolving so is reason it is still considered beta project...hehehe! John Pritchet bought the code from Martech a couple years back and continues to improve it!
