Hey guys, Lawdog here.

I'm trying to figure out how to configure TWX so that I can run a fighter placement script while logged in as the admin. I've been at this fore nearly 2 hours now and it still won't link up correctly. I need help =( I'm willing to jump on live-stream (video of what I see on my screen) so someone can see what I'm doing and point out what I'm doing wrong.

Here is how I use mine:

Replace where I have 65000 to the port you wish to telnet (23)

Once that is done open a cmd prompt and type telnet 127.0.0.1 23
Result should be something like this:

Trying 127.0.0.1...
Connected to 127.0.0.1.
Escape character is '^]'.

Active connection detected from: 127.0.0.1

TWX Proxy Server v2.05
(Beta Version)

There are currently 1 active telnet connections
No server connections detected
Press $ to activate terminal menu


Once that shows hit $c and it will connect to the
"Please enter your name (ENTER for none)"
"Enter admin password:"
then you should be in.

If that does not help and you have VNC I can remote in and set it up for you. Let me know, good luck. I am on ICQ if you prefer that 1997408.

See, I don't even get that far. When I load up TWX and enter in the numbers, I put 23 as my listening port and I get the error saying "Unable to bind a listening socket on port 23"

Your system is probably using port 23 for your telnet, select something else like the 65000 that I use. I should be home in about an hour, like I mentioned I can either VNC of talk you through on ICQ #1997408

I have a new version for placing alien figs in the game too. The original one that Prom wrote and I added the menu for only does Ferrengi. I wrote one that does Gold Aliens. I will test one more when I get home if all goes well I will send to you then.

I appreciate the help, I have to work in 4 hours and should get some sleep. I'll try a different port when I get home from work.
