We modified the categories for the last set of awards. Next year they might be slightly different again. The idea is to have awards for major categories, but no have so many awards that they cease to be as meaningful.

It was an honor to be nominated for best new player, but nobody commented why they nominated me. Well I guess I impressed at least a few people out there. Nice to have some fans. [:)]

I had the period because it was the end of the sentence. Apparently the forums decided it was part of the URL when making it a clickable link.

Other forums suffer from the same problem when posting links, so I never end a sentence with a URL, I always add a word or two after it. [;)]

Harley, just my $.02 but I would like to be able to nominate categories, then nominate players to fill them, not just nominate players in pre-determined categories. It is like being forced to order either chocolate or vanilla, when you really want strawberry.[xx(]

One year the awards were run by a group of people who tried to please everyone with what categories they wanted. It ended up that there were so many different award categories, that winning an award stopped meaning very much. It was kind of like "Best player named severian" and things like that Also, we don't want to have things like best newb killer or best smack talker, because they're supposed to be a positive thing, and those awards aren't really positive.

My reply was a joke, i really didn't mean those just figured i would try to lighten this place up too many people with attitudes bout a game...geez

I was just explaining the reason why we want to be selective in the running of the awards.

1) Stupid Newbie Error (category open to include all new or senior players and can be submitted by themselves or players that saw how it happened and can submit the proof).
Not my idea...a highly respected player from Australia that has not bee around for awhile named Hell ***** and changed her name to Lady Ice had that category at her site a bit back...think in was called Ice Palace.
