I used to play TW back in the mid 90s on my friends old BBS. Didn't really know what I was doing, but I had fun doing it. I played a game last year for about a month and had the fortune of an experienced red take me under his wing and teach me some of the basics of evil. Just looking for some games/tutoring if anyone is interested in helping me out.

I will be putting up a classic game soon where I will prohibit Fedspace blocking as well as offensive scripts. Will take alot to enforce but worth it. This will be put up Monday at coastgames.com. Jerry, can you answer a few questions about "no offensive scripts" ?

I assume you mean to prohibit scripts like a Pwarp/Photon - though it could be argued that those are "defensive" - meant to protect your fig grid. Anyway, if a Pwarp/Photon is not allowed, are lawnmowing scripts or macros also prohibited? Do players have to type in the keys to move, kill figs, deploy figs, and move again ?

I gotta agree with cherokee here, I would consider a pwarp/photon script a defensive script.

And therein lies the problem. I would consider it both. I have used it to get kills numerous times. The intention when I turned it on was to photon someone and kill them. There were times when the intention was to photon them so they would stop hitting my figs and would return home without trying to get the kill. And there were times when the intention was a little of both.

I wrote mine to protect my figs, I was sick of seeing 75+ figs blown everyday. The fact that people died in the process is a benefit.

You've never used it in a game where it was more important to kill the person hitting the figs than to protect your grid?

I think a pdrop is ONLY defencive IF the Qcannons are off and you do not attack.
Photons can be considered defencive in themselves.
It's the act of attacking that is offencive.
Laying mines is also a defence unless its in any place that is not considered your buble , imo.

It's nothing more than a proactive "the best defense is a good offense" script. Yes, it has defensive qualities, but the end result is an attack on another player directly by you.
