I noticed that big games with high turns and NO ATTACK rules generate massive FIG REPORTS and GAME MAIL.
I have seen many many servers get corrupted games, because messages go UNDELETED, by the players.
As a sysop, not active, I would like to be able to DELETE messages or auto prune, for players that are on corps that are not playing so have massive MAIL FILES... using a BUTTON in twgs to just delete the files when they reach the breaking point.
Some times in a game, with massive messages, I log in and OUT real fast to force TWGS to delete the messages automatically...
This does not always work.
And its prolly best to have more control over this.
sure if a sysop knew to do it, they could manually delete the mail.dat file..... but a button on twgs would be nice to clean up these messages.

I too have experenced this as a player. Star Dock Omega was holding a tourney game, Aliens present. We had tons of figs laid and the Darn aliens would enter figged sectors, not destroy figs, leave and return. Repeating this process forever. Every day logging into the game was a nightmare, Seemed like the messages went on forever.
What bothered me was there was now way to delete messages unless you viewed them all. Was going to to cby anywaz and did, resulting the the game deleting all my messages.... I forget the number but was something like 10,000. Would be nice if players could delete manually without viewing.

When you're at a pause in the messages, hit "a", it will abort them and put you in the game. At that point, if you log out (qy not ry), the game will delete all of them for you.

Even better addition to a new version, how about built in dupe catcher that compares IP addresses, all game passwords available to each player for duplicates between players, things like that where it can be easily checked then logged to a sysop only log file to review later.

The real fix would be to create seperate mail files for the figs and for personal messages. Then give users the options in CN to delete fig report mail from within the game. Main thing is if you will hit Q when you exit the game it will delete all mail messages for you, that were from before you logged in.

Some Players like reading all those messages from Aliens... I personally do not...If you are having a problem when you log in and you have a crap load of messages Try hitting Shift+A and it will bypass all the messages...Then exit the game and come back in, to delete them real quick...I do this to keep my messages down to a minimum...
