I was watching "Halt and Catch Fire" and got inspired to see if anyone still played TW2002 and I was amazed they still do.

Downloaded TWX Proxy 2.03 and got it running after dusting off my brain cells.

But it crashes on me every 15 minutes or so.

So then I tried TWX 2.04, and then 2.11, still same result.

I've played around with the compatibility settings, but it doesn't make any difference, I've tried everything from Win 95 onwards.

I'm running Win 10 on a Lenovo Y520 laptop with SyncTerm.

Anyone know anything I could do to fix this?

Hey there JimTheSoundman! I'm glad you were inspired, and welcome to the small remnant of TW players.

Here is the last release of TWX that I released (v2.05.73), which definitely addressed that bug: http://classictw.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=34737

You can also look for Micro's 2.06.xx version which should also have the fix for that error.

You mentioned version 2.11, but that branch was not maintained, so I suggest ignoring it.

I've downloaded v2.05.73 and it appears to be working flawlessly, so thanks for that.

Now can anyone point me to a resource for writing a login script? I've tried doing it on my own, but it always says it can't compile it. Thanks in advance.

I know that would work, but I completely edited twx proxy ,,2.03 to suit my needs. and have done the same with 2.04. I run both at the same time. Swath-twx 2.03-2.04-Game. Is there an actual fix? I'm thinking I am just going to have to revive a windows 98 machine if not.

i have twx 2.7, running it on win 11, after last update my twx crashes after like 5-10 mins anyone having same issues ?

Yep. Same issue. I dont know for sure, but this is probably the end of backward compatibility.

Yeah I micro is unable now to work on twx so someone else will prob have to step into that role.

Last night Zep connected for about 45 mins so it doesn't seems to be a problem with TWX as much with using the bot.

Well the last public release of mombot was total crap anyways. Hammer and MD broke it beyond repair and disappeared .

[SOLVED] – Exception Access Violation Error on Windows

Still getting the Exception.

I didn't modify folder permissions for SSH, and the other thing, cause I don't see a connection between TWX Memory Exceptions and Server Connectivity(?)

Windows Security Update KB5051987 is what is causing the issue.

Fixed my issue after removing it.

Uninstall Windows Update KB5051987. This is what is causing the issue.
