 Q-cannon draining on retreat
Hi All,
I was recently invading some people who had dropped offline and taking advantage of living upside down in Australia.
They had a couple of planets with NO Cannons at sector level but Interdictor on. I entered sector, took out as many ftrs as I could then hit retreat. Since they had no cannons on I was able to do this a number of times. I was assuming my turns would drop down as I drained 500 ore units. However I noticed that I lost no turns but still couldn't exit the sector.
I'm curious was that costing them ore? and if so would this be a bug? In theory if it was I could have drained X millions of ore and invaded the last couple of planets I hadn't taken using photons.
I stopped doing it as I didn't want to deliberately use a bug and just surrendered my ship.
Cheers,
Hammer

Hammer Where you costing them ORE? yes. How much I dont remember. I have drained ore that way myself aswell. As to why it didnt cost you turns I think thats because you where not going anywhere as the planet IDC was holding you in place. I could be wrong about that but, I know i have done it b4 myself. why i never leave sector cannons off and IDC on. too easy to drain the ore. sk

Interdictor requires ore to function (this is clear in the description) and takes some each time it holds someone in sector. Just keep trying to exit the sector, you won't actually exit but will use up all the ore. I just macro it in swath and hit it as many times as necessary till the ore's gone. I use this tactic pretty often. I love it when people have cannons off and IDC on. Easiest way to drain them.

 Re: Q-cannon draining on retreat
It costs the planet (PIG) 500 units per retreat, once the planet reaches less than 500 units of FO you are free to leave. (Noting each retreat resets entry into the sector, as to the chain of event which are programmed to occur.)
An in-sector shipboard IG overrides a planet IG (PIG) and costs the defender nothing. However, an in-sector shipboard IG looses its hold whilst the defending player is docking or landing.
In the meantime, a retreating player cannot leave save by transport or surrender.

Ahh,
See when u do it in sector by pressing "m" it costs you a turn (or whatever turns per warp your ship is).
Looks like I left the with a couple of planets for free.

Ham Were they adept's? His are usually pretty cheap. Well, I suppose that is better than having to cheat at your very own edit, eh? You just violated truce, the game was rebanged a day early on the 6th, the truce was to end tonight; for it had only been about 1 day and 4-hours as of last night--today is the third day. (See reference: viewtopic.php?p=247065#p247065) ** Further you violated truce as well by dropping mines in open space and leaving 50k fighters in sectors, which ended up draining nearly 1/2 of my shipboard assets at the time I charged right into them. (And to further note, not a violation, but that you threw a sissy fit for coloing neutered planets in open space--threatening to SD me--which you in turn did in this game in addition to deploying explosive mines and large numbers of figs.) Also that is interesting, suddenly you get two corpies out of the blue, and named themselves adeptkiller? Hmmm... P.S. Enjoy your erection over me. Normal people just take a few blue-bombers. To each their own I guess.

You think I am mAd because he was in the game with you from the start. That's pretty funny. You must be so obsessed with me that you think every player who disagrees with you in a game now is me. I am "adeptkiller" in that game. I just joined it and teamed up with the other player that was there. LOL.

How would I know who is who? You all change your handles each time. I am just going off your demeanor towards me. Regardless, it does not alter the chain of events involving you and your corpies. Again, as to the main point, I can only iterate: qui tacet consentire videtur.
