You mention something about trying 30 minutes beforehand - so I don't think you understand this since I know you don't play the game much but - we were all running scripts well before the game started that had us connected to the server and were pounding it to get logged in the second it opened. When it did, many of us who got to where the login prompt would normally be got immediately disconnected. This isn't a connection issue, it's a server issue. And it's one I have *never* seen before in *dozens* of tourneys.

I thought you were un-able to connect, since we were blaming the HOST provider.
This sounds like a V2 bug, and I HAVE seen it before, and I thought it was fixed in 2.20b.
Most tourney's are run on V1, because of V2 bugs like this.

It is your script, and the one in Mombot, being run by 18 players at the same time that CAUSED the server to crash. Sort of like a mass DOS attack, but it is a lot easier to break TWGS.

I can confirm we all were online waiting also pounding the join game.

when 12+ people or went ENTER GAME, TWGS probably just shat itself.

Easy one for us to test.

so, JP was having problems with the startup routines not resetting, so his solution was just to close the process when you exit the game and start a new process... If you are pounding away at this prompt you are launching hundreds of processes.. V1 does not do this.

And open up the games to all of the bugs that are known to exist (and have been misused in the past) on v1?

At the current time, even JP can't compile it. You would need a machine with software that hasn't been supported in over 10 years.

This is what Ive been afraid of since this happened. I knew it was one of two things. server issue or twgs.

I wanted to try v2 one more time. but everytime i have run tourney's on v2 there have been issues.

Its tough to weigh V1's Bugs against V2's instability. In the end A stable server is more important. So, I will not run another tourney on v2. Its works good for every day games use. theres just something about these tourneys it can't handle.

Again it was my call to run it on v2 So it WAS my mistake. I apologize to everyone.
