 Locked threads
Why was the "Game changing feature requests" thread locked? I did not read anything rude, obscene or off topic in it.
Maybe I missed a particular post?
Kavanagh.

Kavanagh. Probably for the reason that it is of the "neverending story" type of thread - a resolution would not be achieved because we all have strong opinions on the subject. It diverged a few times, but most threads do. Is that a reason to lock it? Hopefully the person that felt it should be locked will give a response so we can keep within whatever guidelines that were broke.

 Re: Locked threads
I think it was more preventative than any actual misconduct. Locking the thread isn't really a punishment to anyone, but it did seem as though the debate was getting a bit personal, and this way everyone can step back and take a deep breath and let it go.
Also, once I said that I'm not adding that feature, it sort of ended the main point of that thread, and all that was left was bickering over the old "script vs non-script" battle, which isn't particularly useful. Then you started to see certain members trying to shift the thread into an attack on TWGS v2, which, again, is of no real value. Once a thread heads down that path, what's the point? We've been over that stuff again and again.

 Re: Locked threads
It was because I posted my views in that thread. If it had been anyone else expressing their views it would still be open.

I mean if JP really disliked you wouldn't he just ban you from HIS site. I think the fact that JP allows you to advertise for free is pretty huge.

 Re: Locked threads
I actually think most people would have been happy to ignore your input on the subject, Big D, as it really had nothing to do with the discussion. I know I personally was more concerned for contributing, positive members of the forum who were getting caught up in the totally unnecessary battle over playing styles and who might get carried away and say something they regret. Our goal here isn't just to keep certain members from being obnoxious and disruptive, it's also to try to avoid having valued members of the forum at each other's throats over differences of opinion. The contributors to that thread are all reasonable people, but it was starting to get pretty hot. Your involvement was just to see if you could flame it up even more. Thankfully, I don't think you succeeded. But even without your help, it was getting pretty heated. I think it was reasonable to lock the thread.

 Re: Locked threads
Helix had also asked me to stop posting, and locked the thread after my very next post.
In the future, let's have a little more tact please. If any moderator posts in the thread to stop, I treat that as it if were any other person posting.
If a Moderator is serious, please take it to PM, and I'll give thier request merit.
Praise in public, Critisize in private please.... otherwise, Helix's posts are ignored by me just as Big D's posts are ignored.
Sorry, but IMHO you're both cut from the same cloth.
New Mod for Open discussion please.

The thread discussed the possible negative merits of the toggle you suggested. I started the thread in Open discussions because it seemed to be the appropriate place to discuss the issue. When JP mentioned that he wasn't interested in implementing the toggle, there seemed to be no real reason to continue. Yet it did. The thread was taking an adversarial turn, and was instead dwelling on the my-way-is-the-best-way-to-play theme that we are all so familiar with. I would've locked it too. I just would've sent you a PM after the fact, explaining why it was locked. In the future, maybe you could listen to a mod asking you to stop.

I know that it will benefit far more than it will inconvenience in the long run. Sounded to me like he was seriously concidering my request here.

I know I'll regret this, but the quote you provided IIRC was about a completely new T-Edit interface and nothing to do with the toggle you requested. The parts you highlighted were only being used as a reference. John Pritchett wrote: That said, I don't intend to implement this option. I've discussed this with Cruncher a few times, and I remain unconvinced that it's a worthwhile feature.

Because I can say the same to you and your buddy(ies) when you come in here making statements on how scripts "ruined the game" and you/your groupies add fuel to the fire. There is an old saying.. people in glass houses should not throw stones. Or perhaps this one.. you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. And if you have an issue with the mod, why bring it to the open forum for all to get involved? Would you not follow your own advise and PM the mod in question?

Smile and wave folks.... @Cruncher, Sorry I did get to read your PM and your right I did not get a chance to fully reply because I did not get a chance to fully read the topic in question. Too late to reply now from the looks of it. @Kav, At first read I didn't get it either. I only skipped to the last thread, which once reading through everyones comments it looked like it started to "possibly" get bloated maybe worse if it was left alone? @BigD, Didn't see that as the case. @Kause, Well said. @Helix, Your the mod.
